ModsLab Newsletter: Starfield Creation Kit launched, Baldur’s Gate 3 Modding Tool entered alpha-testing, Elden Ring DLC released, and More!
Welcome to the ModsLab newsletter! 🚀 We're here to bring you the hottest news from June in the world of gaming and modding.
📰 What was on the plate this June?
🚀 Bethesda launches the Starfield Creation Kit
🔧 mod.io to support modding in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Homeworld 3
⚔️ Elden Ring DLC released with mixed reviews on Steam
🎛️ NVIDIA open-sources the RTX Remix Toolkit
A few months after Starfield's release, following the path of Skyrim and Fallout 4, Bethesda put the Creation Kit in the hands of the community. Now, modding Starfield will be much easier, and modders can share their modifications with the community on Bethesda's website. However, not all mods from the Creation Kit will be free—to install some modifications players will have to use Creation Credits.

With the introduction of the Creation Kit, the galaxy in Starfield is becoming very similar to the Star Wars universe. This was rather expected—players didn't have to wait long for dozens of modifications to flood Starfield with content from one of the world's most popular franchises. We can't wait to fire up Starfield again and shoot the blaster!
The long-awaited update to Baldur's Gate 3, introducing tools for modding the game, entered the alpha-testing stage and will be available in September. The great news is that the tool and all modifications created with it will be free for the community and available on every platform.
Even better, the necessary infrastructure will be provided by our partner mod.io. Thanks to them it will be possible to make modifications available on all platforms, manage uploaded mods, host guides, and provide a level of content moderation to keep the community safe.
It's worth mentioning that Mod.io recently also supported Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Entertainment in introducing modding tools for Homeworld 3.
After more than two years of anticipation, From Software released the DLC for Elden Ring. Sadly, not all players are pleased with Shadow of the Erdtree. Some are complaining about the high difficulty level, expressing their frustration in reviews on Steam. It is worth mentioning that the DLC on Metacritic is the best-rated DLC ever with a score of 95%. Will the developers manage to address fans' concerns in future patches? Or perhaps the modding community will step in? Many modifications have already been made to Elden Ring—HERE is a list of the best.
We saved the big news for the end of the June newsletter—NVIDIA will make the RTX Remix Toolkit available as open-source software! HERE you’ll find the list of tools that will be put into the hands of modders.

Remix is a tool that allows you to add Ray Tracing technology and improve lighting in older game titles. NVIDIA points out that the tool has already been used by 20,000 modders creating more than 100 game remasters implementing Ray Tracing technology. Check out what was already done with the help of this amazing tool - Quake II RTX, Minecraft RTX, Morrowind RTX, Portal Prelude RTX, and Half-Life 2 RTX.
